Hello! I’m Yasui, the solo president running a company primarily focused on inspecting high-pressure gas facilities.
I haven’t been able to get an appointment with my hairstylist friend, so my hair is the longest it’s ever been.
It’s getting frizzy and difficult to manage... I really need to do something about it before summer arrives in full force.
I tried calling on Thursday evening for a Saturday slot, but that’s a tough ask—those weekend slots are in high demand.
Everyone wants weekend appointments, especially the good time slots, and customers like me who can come anytime still hope to be contacted if there’s a sudden cancellation.
Last week, I was working far away from home and had to leave early every day, so I was really looking forward to taking it slow today—my one day off.
But of course, with kids waking up at 6 a.m., the idea of quietly sleeping in under the same roof just isn’t realistic.
Once I hear voices or the TV, I’m wide awake.
I brewed coffee from beans and read the newspaper, then moved on to some housework.
In the morning, I focused on work—printing, prepping mail, and replying to emails, taking care of the usual weekly admin stuff.
In the afternoon, I went with my daughter to her lesson, and when we got home, my girls asked, "Let’s play Mario Party!" so I joined them for a bit of fun.
Later, I hit the gym while they were at their lessons again, then came home for dinner and got ready for tomorrow.
Sometimes it’s nice to spend a day without any particular plans, just flowing with the time.
Mario Party is surprisingly fun—highly recommended if you want to really play with your kids.
Living like “plowing when sunny, reading when rainy” has its charm.
On rainy days, instead of going out, spending time relaxing at home with a book or a warm drink while listening to the sound of rain—
That kind of slow time might actually be essential for living a good life.
Usually I say things like,
“Plan your schedule! Use your time wisely!”
But to be honest, I have days like this more often than I let on.
If I don’t make plans, I end up doing absolutely nothing—so I’m the type of person who needs structure.
But at the same time, I also know that deep down, I don’t want to do anything at all.
That’s why I make time like this, where I don’t think about anything and just go with the flow.
Run when it’s time to run, rest when it’s time to rest, play when it’s time to play.
That’s the way to go.
Sometimes, you’ve got to release yourself from stress, or it just builds up and becomes overwhelming.
See you next time!
