Hello, I’m Yasui, president of a company that mainly conducts inspections of high-pressure gas facilities.
Let me start with three recommended books:
Jeff Bezos – Invent & Wander
A great book for developing a long-term perspective.Stephen R. Covey – The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
A must-read for building a better life and mindset.Tadashi Yanai – Face Reality
In this book, the founder of UNIQLO explains what it truly means to “face reality.” It helps develop a broader, more objective perspective. His thinking, influenced by Peter Drucker, is well worth learning from.
This blog is based on the things I notice in everyday life,
the things I see and hear, and the thoughts I spend time thinking about.
Since I’m publishing these articles publicly on the internet,
of course there is intention behind them.
Simply put, I want to give shape to the things I’ve realized and the feelings I’m experiencing right now, and leave them as a record.
Some people around me may read these posts and wonder,
“Is he talking about me?”
But personally, I’m not trying to criticize or target any specific individual.
What I focus on are the events taking place, the problems that need solving, and the actions and decisions surrounding them.
People who know me in real life may associate certain stories with certain people,
but that interpretation belongs to the reader.
How someone receives my writing is not something I can control.
Of course, if simply talking to people could change them, that would be wonderful.
But as I often say, people do not change easily.
Unless something truly significant happens, people rarely change just because someone told them to.
Daily habits shape us deeply.
Ways of thinking and values differ greatly from person to person.
In the end, the trigger to change has to come from within yourself.
Only you can pull that trigger.
The things people feel in daily life disappear over time unless they are recorded somewhere—through writing, journaling, or some other form.
And I believe the things I feel at 40 years old will be different from what I feel at 50.
But if those thoughts are preserved, I can look back one day and think:
“So that’s how I saw things back then.
And this is how I see them now.”
That kind of change is interesting to me.
If someone reading this blog feels something from it, that alone makes me very happy.
If someone thinks, “Maybe he’s talking about me,”
then perhaps that feeling itself means something.
And honestly, I’m also curious about what they choose to do after feeling that way.
When you write publicly, you cannot expect everyone to like you.
And honestly, that’s impossible anyway.
Some people will like me.
Some people won’t.
That’s unavoidable.
But that’s okay.
If you live long enough, there will always be people who dislike you.
Writing and communicating thoughts is difficult—just like living itself.
But there are people who say they enjoy reading this blog.
There are people who continue reading.
That’s why I won’t stop.
To be honest, I’m one of the readers too.
This blog itself is part of what I do.
So I hope you’ll continue following along.
Thank you very much for reading to the end!
See you next time!
