Hello, this is Yasui Shacho, and I run a company primarily engaged in inspections of high-pressure gas equipment.
Here’s a mouse I personally recommend!
The Logitech Silent Wireless Trackball Mouse M575SPd.
It’s seriously good.
The clicking sound is incredibly quiet.
Even as someone who had always used a regular mouse, I got used to it very quickly.
One major advantage is that you don’t need space to move the mouse around, which is perfect for a small desk.
And when you get deeply focused on work, you realize how much space you normally use just moving a regular mouse around.
Logitech also has a higher-end MX series trackball mouse:
The Logitech Silent Wireless Trackball Mouse MXTB2d MX ERGO S.
But if you simply want to try using a trackball mouse for the first time, I think the M575 is more than enough.
The M575 cannot do horizontal scrolling, so if you frequently use horizontal scrolling, then the MX series is probably the better choice.
For example, when working with Excel on a smaller screen, needing to scroll sideways can become a little inconvenient with the M575.
When I’m writing blog posts or doing desk work, I often use the Kensington SlimBlade Pro Trackball sitting on my desk instead.
However, that one takes a fair amount of practice to get comfortable with, so for actual work I still prefer a more conventional mouse shape.
I own two PCs, both laptops.
Depending on the task, I sometimes connect them to an external monitor and use a separate keyboard.
Anyway, I got sidetracked there. lol
In the past, I probably would have bought the MX model without hesitation.
But this time I thought, “Maybe I don’t need to spend extra money on features I won’t use,” so I chose the M575 instead.
And honestly, I think it was the right decision.
Well, maybe I just want to believe my own choice was correct. lol
But the point is: the M575 is satisfying enough on its own.
One thing I personally noticed is that with a trackball mouse, I couldn’t achieve the same level of cursor precision as with a regular mouse.
To select exactly what I wanted, I had to move the cursor more carefully and pay closer attention.
With a normal mouse, cursor accuracy is extremely high, so you can snap right onto the exact point you’re aiming for.
Though, in the end, maybe all of that simply comes down to getting used to it.
As I mentioned earlier, being able to use a mouse comfortably even on a cramped desk is already a huge advantage.
And above all, the clicking sound is incredibly quiet.
You no longer have to fill the room with constant clicking noises.
That’s also considerate when using it in places like cafés, where the people around you may just be trying to relax rather than work.
Seeing is believing.
If you’re interested, give it a try sometime.
You might never want to go back to a regular mouse again. lol
Thank you very much for reading all the way to the end!
See you again!
