Hello there, this is Yasui, a solo entrepreneur running a company specializing in high-pressure gas equipment inspections.
Last night, I had drinks with a client.
I always enjoy drinking no matter the occasion, and last night was no exception—it was a fun time.
Until recently, I would stick to beer all the way through, but since the start of this fiscal year, I’ve switched to a “beer then highball” flow.
I especially like the slightly sweet aroma of Kaku highball.
Getting into highballs, discovering the smoothness of whisky with water, and learning to appreciate the scent of whisky has really expanded my drink menu.
Now, switching gears a bit—I mentioned before that I own a rental property, and the tenant moved out at the end of March.
Things finally started moving again after Golden Week, but during April, I was just waiting for an update from the real estate agency.
No news came, so I decided to reach out myself.
With the holidays and unclear schedules, we had a few phone conversations, but I realized they’re busy too—and I’m not their only client.
So I thought I'd try emailing instead, using the address printed on their business card.
Emails have a clear edge over phone calls—they’re easier to check anytime on a PC or smartphone.
And since emails are visual rather than just audio, they’re more likely to stick in someone’s mind.
Not everyone in this world gets everything done promptly and without mistakes.
That’s why we have to think about how to move things forward on our own.
Just sitting around waiting and assuming someone’s handling it for you doesn’t work.
People are busy.
And if you haven’t built a relationship yet, expecting them to go out of their way for you is just unrealistic.
Whether it's a hot opportunity, a raise, or a promotion—rarely will it come to you while you’re doing nothing.
You have to take action, create a strategy, and steer your own ship forward.
That’s the only way your life truly moves ahead.
You’re not special.
Most people out there are just barely keeping up with the work already on their plates.
If you space out and just wait, you'll get left behind—plain and simple.
If you want something, go out and get it.
That mindset is more important than ever now.
Anyway, things are moving forward for me.
Until I get the place rented again, I’m going to do everything I can.
It needs to be kept tidy, so I’m already deep in the weeds—literally! 😂
See you next time!
