Hello there. I'm Yasui, a solo business owner running a company that mainly conducts inspections of high-pressure gas equipment.
I've been doing weekly strength training for two years straight.
But I missed the sessions the week before last and last week—so if I skipped again this week, it would've been three weeks in a row. Fortunately, I managed to get back to it.
It's funny how that feeling of wanting to skip just creeps in, isn't it?
I really felt that humans naturally try to avoid anything that feels tough.
Before I could even sit down at the machine, that little devil kept whispering:
“Come on, let’s skip this week too…”
Once something becomes a habit, though, you stop getting those whispers.
You start feeling uncomfortable not doing it, or you just don’t want to feel like you lost to yourself.
That’s why making something a habit is so important if you want to keep it going.
And it’s also important not to make excuses to skip.
I train every Friday, and if I have dinner plans, I just do it on Thursday or Saturday instead.
And I absolutely follow through.
Humans, being naturally lazy, tend to justify taking breaks.
Once you set a precedent, it becomes the “new normal.”
You know how some people say,
“Hey, you let it slide last time!”
I always think, That was then, this is now.
Same idea here, haha.
If you give yourself permission once, it becomes easier to do it again.
So instead, remind yourself every time:
“I’m just shifting it this once.”
Don’t let future-you say, “But last time was okay!”
If you want to achieve something, consistent effort is essential.
Things that come easy rarely hold real value.
If you’re aiming for something big, you need to allocate proper resources.
By turning what you want to do into a habit and sticking to it, you’ll build strength and make your life better.
Thank you for reading!
See you next time!
