Hello, this is Yasui, a solo entrepreneur running a company specializing in high-pressure gas equipment inspections.
Wanting to keep my oral hygiene in check, I recently purchased some interdental brushes:
GUM (G.U.M) L-Shaped Interdental Brushes – Back Tooth Care, Wire Type [Size: SSS (1)] 10 pcs × 3 packs + bonus.
Compared to the 100-yen interdental brushes I bought at Daiso, these feel much better.
Since it had been a while, my gums bled, as expected.
According to the product description, initial use often causes bleeding.
This happens because bacteria that were left unchecked can cause gum inflammation, and when the brush touches the affected area, bleeding occurs.
It’s only natural—brushing over swollen, inflamed gums is bound to have that effect.
I didn’t experience any bleeding in the front teeth, but when I started brushing around the third tooth from the back, bleeding occurred.
Most likely, there’s some inflammation in the middle area of my teeth.
This suggests that while I’ve been using floss daily, it hasn’t been effectively removing plaque from those areas.
(If bleeding continues, it’s best to consult a dentist.)
Just realizing this made trying a new interdental brush worth it.
After incorporating interdental brushing, my mouth feels fresher than usual, so I’m convinced of its effectiveness.
By combining toothbrushing + interdental brushing + dental floss, we can maintain oral cleanliness and reduce the risk of losing our teeth with age, ensuring we can continue eating with our natural teeth.
If cavities progress and reach the nerves, leading to dental cysts, the nerve may need to be removed.
Once the nerve is gone, the tooth loses its nutrient supply, shortening its lifespan.
Moreover, if the nerve extraction treatment isn’t perfect, bacteria may reinfect the area, causing pus buildup and requiring further treatment or even extraction.
Maintaining quality of life (QoL) depends on whether we can eat with our own teeth.
If we’re going to spend money, investing in our body and health is a smart choice.
Compared to Westerners, I feel that many Japanese people have poor dental hygiene.
A clean, well-maintained smile leaves a much better impression than a neglected one.
It also boosts confidence.
See you next time!
