瀕死状態のメガネチェーン再生物語「破天荒フェニックス」の著者であり実業家の田中修治さんをご存知でしょうか？
NewsPicksが配信しているYouTubeにも数多く出演されていて、私も大好きな経営者のお一人です。
そんな田中社長がこんなことをおっしゃっていました。
「経営の成功方法はない。もっと言うと経営の成功方法は人それぞれで同じ方法で成功することはまずない。ただし、失敗する方法は確実にある。」そして、経営者が失敗する特徴があるといいました。３つのGだそうです。
①ゴルフ（Golf）
②ギャンブル（Gamble）
③外車（Gaisya）
以上の３Gです。
３番目の外車は正確にはインポートカーとなるのでしょうが、あえてのGということでどれも確かになぁ、と思います。
ゴルフは否定的な人もいるかもしれませんね。
現に私の周りでもビジネス関係でのゴルフに行かれている人の話を聞いたことがあります。
朝、ラウンド中、食事、風呂と半日以上は時間を共にするので、そこがいいと感じる面もなくはありません。
ギャンブルはもってのほかですよね。
ハマり過ぎてしまって会社のお金に手をつけるとか魔が刺してしまうことも十分に考えられます。
「当てて返せばいい」
と思ってしまうかもしれません。
パチンコ程度なら。。。と思うかもしれませんがパチンコこそ時間効率の悪さ、回収率の低さなどなど悪い面が多いと思いますね。
このギャンブルのGはこういうことも言いたいのかもと感じることがあります。
それは、運に頼るな。ということです。
出たとこ勝負！とかそういう気持ちのいい言葉で人は頭を使って考えることをやめてしまうのです。
運にかけるのであれば運否天賦のものに賭ける。
でも、巷のギャンブルって運否天賦に偏ったものってほとんどないと思うんですよね。
そういう頭を使わないことをせず、頭で考えてやりなさい、ということだと思いますね。
外車はとにかくお金がかかります。
上を見ればキリがない。
日本車は限りがあります。
せいぜい２０００万が最高です。
国産車の高級車であれば修理代に関しても大衆車と比べたら高額になるでしょうが、目ん玉飛び出るほどではないと思います。
外車はとにかくお金がかかります。
スポーツカーは特にですよね。
オイル交換とかまめにしないと保証しません。
ディーラーで面倒みてない車は保証しません。
と付け加えてきます。
ということは保証が含まれているから整備に関するお金も高額になります。
だって、保証、要するに保険料が含まれているようなものですから。
こういう車は事業に関連して、お金を産んでくれませんからね。
産むどころか安定的なキャッシュアウトを産む金食い虫です。
よくわからない見栄にお金払うくらいなら、自分の生産性があがるようなことに使った方がいいと僕は思います。
他人が好きにやってる分には全然止めませんけどね！
僕も車好きなのですが、グランツーリスモで満足させてもらっていますw
最後、もう１つ付け加えるGがあります。
それはガール（Girl）です。
男性経営者限定かもしれませんが、経営者になるとモテるので愛人さんを囲っている人がいると思います。
飲み代、プレゼント代、もちろん見栄を張るための出費はそれ以外にも相当あるのだと思います。
僕はいたこともないので事実は知りませんけどね！w
金のかかる彼女みたいなもんでしょ。
IPOとかで莫大な資産を築いた人は何の問題もないのでしょうが、そこらのおっさん社長がこれやったら破滅への道まっしぐらでしょう。
家族と別れて私生活もボロボロになったら。。。と思うとこの４番目のGが一番恐ろしいかもしれません。
夜は毎日は飲み歩かず、勉強している経営者が一番硬いと思います。
最近は飲みにいくと３日間くらい体調がすぐれないこともあります。
いろんな面でこの３つのGプラス４番目のGについて気をつけてやって行った方がいいと思いますね。

Do you know Shuji Tanaka, the author and entrepreneur behind the revival story of the eyewear chain in critical condition, known as the "Radical Phoenix"?
He often appears on YouTube channels like NewsPicks, and he's one of the business leaders I admire.
Mr. Tanaka once said something like this:
"There's no one way to succeed in business. In fact, the methods for success vary from person to person, and it's rare for the same method to lead to success for everyone. However, there are certainly ways to fail."
He also mentioned characteristics that lead entrepreneurs to failure, which he calls the three Gs:
1. Golf
2. Gambling
3. Foreign Cars
These are the three Gs. While the third one, "Foreign Cars," technically refers to imported cars, it's intentionally included as a "G," and it certainly makes sense.
Some may have a negative view of golf. I've heard stories of people in business circles going golfing. Spending half a day together in the morning, during the round, for meals, and in the bath, there are certainly aspects of it that people enjoy.
Gambling is definitely out of the question. It's easy to get addicted and end up using company money, which can lead to disaster. You might think, "I'll win it back."
You might think that playing pachinko is harmless, but I believe there are many downsides, such as poor time efficiency and low payout rates.
Perhaps the message behind this "Gambling" G is not to rely on luck. When people rely solely on luck, they stop thinking critically. If you're going to rely on luck, bet on something innate. But I don't think most gambling opportunities out there rely solely on innate luck.
So instead of avoiding using your brain, it's better to think critically and act accordingly.
Foreign cars are simply expensive. There's no limit to how much you can spend. Japanese cars have their limits.
At most, they cost around 20 million yen. Even with luxury Japanese cars, repair costs may be higher compared to mass-market cars, but it's not exorbitant.
Foreign cars are just expensive. Especially sports cars.
If you don't change the oil regularly, they won't be covered by the warranty. Cars that haven't been taken care of by the dealer won't be covered by the warranty either.
This means that because the warranty is included, maintenance costs are also high. After all, the warranty essentially includes insurance premiums.
These cars don't generate money for the business. Instead of spending money on something you don't understand just to show off, I think it's better to invest in something that increases your productivity. Of course, I won't stop anyone from doing what they like! I'm also a car enthusiast, but I'm satisfied with Gran Turismo!
Lastly, there's one more G to add: Girls.
It might be limited to male executives, but I think there are people who surround themselves with mistresses because they become popular when they become executives. I think there are significant expenses for drinks, gifts, and of course, for appearances. I've never done it myself, so I don't know the facts!
It's like having a girlfriend who costs you money. People who have built huge fortunes through IPOs probably have no problem, but if a regular old executive were to do this, it would be a straight path to ruin.
If you end up divorcing your family and your personal life falls apart... I think this fourth G might be the scariest.
I think the most disciplined executives are the ones who don't go out drinking every night and instead spend their evenings studying.
Lately, I've found that going out for drinks can leave me feeling unwell for about three days. In many ways, I think it's important to be careful about these three Gs plus the fourth G.
