Hello. I’m Yasui, the owner-president of a one-person company mainly engaged in inspections of high-pressure gas facilities.
It’s the three-day weekend for the Coming-of-Age ceremony. The legal age of adulthood has been lowered to 18, but still—
to everyone who has turned 20, congratulations.
I sincerely hope you won’t be deceived by bad adults as you step out into society.
People say that bad adults steal five years of a young person’s future.
I hope you can walk through life with at least a slightly long-term perspective.
Honestly, I’ve reached my limit. I’m running out of time.
Even if I try to research everything myself, the effort, time, and progress just don’t balance out anymore, so I’ve decided to finally ask professionals for help.
What’s been especially weighing on my mind is labor management.
In this VUCA era, where the future is completely unpredictable, my true feelings are that I don’t want to hire employees.
However, looking at this year from NEXT’s perspective, it’s obvious that the workload will increase compared to now.
If the company we are succeeding from says they want to maintain the current structure, then I have no choice but to hire. That’s the reality.
You might think, “Is it okay to say this here?”—but these are things I don’t say at job sites, so let’s allow it here(笑).
Since I want to put things in proper order, I’ve decided to rely on professionals at this point.
Some might think, “Finally,” but I tend to believe that I can manage things myself if I just look them up.
Labor management feels even more difficult than taxation.
With taxes, you can’t just skip filing, but if you don’t know the details, you might overpay or end up paying additional taxes—and that’s usually the extent of it.
Sales management and bookkeeping are still something I can handle in-house.
But labor management doesn’t work that way.
It involves managing working hours, complying with labor laws, creating work rules, and drafting employment contracts.
Sure, it might be possible to do it myself if I really tried, but there are too many other things that need my attention, so I’m giving up on that path.
Time just keeps slipping away.
I’ve heard Horiemon say that things like tax filings should be left to tax accountants, and that you should focus your freed-up time on your own core work—and now I finally understand what he meant.
Have others handle what can be delegated, and I focus on what only I can do.
It’s funny how you don’t realize that it’s okay to rely on professionals until you’re really cornered.
Thank you very much for reading this far.
See you next time!
