今、ブルーオーシャン戦略という本を読んでいます。
ものすごい良書です。よかったら読んでみてください＾＾
品質を高めて値段をあげるのは正しいことか？
どうなんでしょうかね。
自己満足のような気がしてなりませんが。。。
限界利益をあげろ、と何かの本で読んだのを思い出しました。
利益の追求。
営利を求める企業としての姿として正しいです。
間違っていないと思います。
今までは、値段をあげなければいけない、と考えていました。
ですが、最近はそうではないと感じています。
値段を極限まであげなさい、というのはどうやら違うのかもしれません。
世の中に必要とされていて、その品質を高めたら多くの人に喜んでもらえるようなことであれば、品質を高めて値段もあがるのはいいと思います。
ですが、品質を高めて値段もあがるということは、そこに手が出せなくなる脱落者も少なからずいるのかもしれません。
自動車の値段がどんどんと上がっているのは、単に物価があがっているだけではないわけで、装備が良くなってきているからどんどんと値段が上がってきているのだと思います。
そして求めたのは、消費者なのかもしれませんね。
新車を買えなくなってしまった人は中古車を買う。
そんな感じと捉えていただければと思います。
お金をかけて、品質を高めるというのは大変安易な方法です。
頭を使わず、工夫をせず、どうしたら現状の環境でいいものを生み出せるかを考えることが我々の仕事なのではないでしょうか。
人は頭を使える生き物です。
言葉を操れる唯一の生き物です。
品質を高めつつ、コストを下げ、値段はそのままもしくはより廉価にやれるようにする。
そうすることで、僕たちの仕事というものがお客様に利益をもたらすのです。
自分たちのことだけを考えて、利益を最大化するのではありません。
お客様も含めたトータルで考えるべきなのです。
そのためには安価にできる方法を考えるということは大変有効なことなのです。

Is it right to increase prices along with quality?
I’m not so sure.
It feels somewhat like self-satisfaction. I remember reading in a book that we should increase our marginal profits.
Pursuing profit as a profit-seeking enterprise is correct. I believe it’s not wrong.
I used to think we had to raise prices. However, lately, I’ve felt that this may not always be the case.
It might be wrong to push prices to the extreme.
If something is needed by society and improving its quality brings joy to many people, then I think it’s good to raise both quality and prices.
However, raising quality and prices might leave some people unable to afford it.
Car prices are increasing not just because of inflation but because they are getting better equipped. This improvement is probably driven by consumer demand. People who can’t afford new cars buy used ones. Think of it that way.
Spending money to improve quality is a very easy method. It doesn’t require much thought or innovation. Our job is to figure out how to create good products within our current environment.
Humans are creatures that can use their heads. We are the only species capable of using words.
Our goal should be to improve quality while reducing costs and keeping prices the same or even lower.
By doing so, our work can benefit our customers.
It’s not just about maximizing our own profits. We should think about the overall benefit, including our customers. Finding cheaper ways to produce quality goods is highly effective.
