Hello, this is President Yasui. I run a company specializing in the inspection of high-pressure gas equipment as a solo entrepreneur.
This week has been a fulfilling one with on-site work every day. We’ve received many quotation requests, and processing them is taking some time. I’m truly grateful for all the inquiries, but at the same time, I sincerely apologize for the wait.
A young sales representative from a company we work closely with has now been with the company for five years.
As a salesperson, he visits clients on his own. In the beginning, he may have seemed inexperienced, but when I met him recently, he had grown into a fully capable sales professional.
Handling numerous customers means more than just processing orders; he also has to deal with equipment troubles, price negotiations, and even difficult conversations that may inconvenience clients. When communicating with users who aren’t familiar with the equipment, explaining things can be challenging. But overcoming such experiences has strengthened his confidence and self-reliance.
Of course, mistakes in judgment are inevitable. However, that’s where companies play a crucial role—learning from senior employees and receiving guidance from supervisors leads to growth.
This is how a new salesperson gradually develops into a capable professional.
I remember when he first started visiting sites—he lacked confidence, and though he spoke with us workers, his uncertainty was apparent. But we must not forget that we, too, were once inexperienced. That’s why we should be willing to support and cooperate with them.
Overcoming uncertainty, climbing step by step, and pushing past obstacles eventually leads to a vast and breathtaking view—a clear, open sky beyond the challenges. Until that moment, the journey may feel like walking through a dark tunnel with only a faint light ahead.
However, as long as one keeps moving forward, progress is certain. Every step taken, every experience gained, and every lesson learned become invaluable assets.
Even the most confident senior employees were once uncertain newcomers. They built their knowledge, crafted their tools for battle, and honed their tactics and experience to navigate the professional world.
Failure doesn’t mean the end. It’s not a life-or-death matter. So, don’t be afraid to take on challenges.
There’s a saying that “God only gives challenges that we are capable of overcoming.” In other words, there is no wall that cannot be surpassed.
Consistency is key to growth.
There is no substitute for experience—success comes from taking on challenges repeatedly.
Today’s Quote
