Hello. I'm President Yasui, a solo entrepreneur running a company that mainly conducts inspections of high-pressure gas equipment.
The other day, I was saying how nice traditional inns (ryokan) are, but not every place I visit has one, so today I want to talk about hotels instead.
Among nationwide hotel chains, one of my favorites is Super Hotel.
They always say, "Thank you for staying with us again."
Since my work is fairly regular, I tend to stay at the same hotels repeatedly.
At membership-based hotels, they probably track your stay history and know how many times you've been there.
That’s probably how they greet you with that phrase at check-in.
It may seem like a small thing, but I believe that one line really matters.
I stay at Super Hotel because I like it, whether or not they say that line—but when they do, it still makes me happy.
Speaking of Super Hotel, they’re known for their ultra-long pillow—the one that still supports your head even if you roll around in your sleep (haha).
Although I don’t always use it, they also offer a wide variety of pillow types to suit your preference.
Their pajamas are made of soft materials and feel really comfortable to wear.
The rooms are a bit dim, which might not be ideal for working, but it’s great for sleeping.
The curtains are perfectly fitted roll screens, so sunlight doesn’t come in at all, and most of their rooms are remarkably quiet.
Some Super Hotel locations have large natural hot spring baths.
Near those baths, they post displays about the history of travel and hot springs in Japan.
It’s nice that they also convey the cultural background of Japanese travel.
The breakfast is delicious no matter which Super Hotel you stay at.
Their breakfast makes you look forward to the morning.
You might even say it makes mornings exciting.
There’s no part where you’d say, “This part is good, but that part is terrible.”
Every little detail is carefully thought through and thoroughly implemented.
That’s something I think I need to learn from and emulate in my own business…
Because they are so consistent in these details, it makes you think:
“This hotel gives me peace of mind.”
“Even if I’m going to an unfamiliar place, as long as there’s a Super Hotel, I won’t have to worry.”
It becomes a kind of mental safety net—a place you can rely on.
Just staying at this hotel can bring you a sense of happiness.
I really think Super Hotel is a great example of branding done right.
Consistent, courteous customer service and reliable offerings.
That’s the standard everyone should aim for.
God is in the details.
I truly want to apply that mindset in my own work.
See you next time!
