Hello, I’m Yasui, the solo president of a company specializing in the inspection of high-pressure gas equipment.
The days are gradually getting warmer, and I’m hoping to get through this summer by slowly acclimating to the heat.
In most jobs, things don’t function with just one person.
Driving a car, carrying luggage, working at a job site—each of these involves many people.
Someone built the car, someone sold it, someone maintains it, and I drive it.
Someone made the goods, someone sold and transported them, someone buys and uses them.
At the job sites where we receive work, there are people working, those who wholesale the products, logistics staff, end users, and customers.
Someone out there in the world mined the raw materials, and someone else transported them.
Everything in the world is made possible by someone else’s involvement.
Bananas today, apples tomorrow.
Beer, whiskey.
From raw meat to sausages and bacon—
Even my daily cravings are easily satisfied thanks to the efforts of others.
And it’s not just about things.
In the morning, I can say good morning to my family.
I have children who cheerfully talk about what happened at school.
There’s someone waiting for me to come home.
Not every moment together is calm or perfect, but I often think—if I could always hold a sense of gratitude simply for their presence.
Of course, I’m also grateful to the clients who order work from us.
And to the end users beyond them as well.
It’s a great gift when someone we’ve gotten to know through work feels, at the very least, “I wouldn’t mind continuing to work with them.”
I’m thankful, too, for the partners who always support me in our work.
Not many partners fully understand NEXT’s philosophy just yet, but I hope to gradually increase the number of people who, like me, care about our clients and work with that mindset.
To use our work as a place to refine our humanity.
And when in doubt, to ask what the right choice is as a person and choose accordingly.
I want us to overcome the weak parts of human nature, and aim to provide such good service that our customers say “thank you” with genuine gratitude.
And to all of you who read my humble writing—
Thank you, truly.
I look forward to your continued support. :)
See you next time!
With gratitude.
