物売りだけじゃない営業をみました Witnessing Sales Beyond Just Selling Products
Hello, I'm President Yasui. In this blog, I write about my thoughts, insights from daily life, and experiences during business trips. Thank you for staying with me till the end.
Recently, I had the opportunity to meet with the sales representative from our business partner, ShoEi Kikou, who traveled all the way to Tajimi for a consultation.
Rather than spending an immense amount of time researching and making decisions alone, engaging in discussions and seeking help can expedite progress significantly. That's precisely what happened when we discussed matters together; progress happened at an incredible pace.
In the process of investing significant time alone, one can stumble, tire out, overlook crucial details, and ultimately fail to reach the goal. By involving sales professionals, one can perceive it as receiving support to reach the desired goal efficiently.
Sales professionals as companions in the journey. I believe I experienced that firsthand.
If it's just about buying a product, you can purchase it from Monotaro or Misumi, right? However, you won't receive suggestions. (Or rather, they won't propose recommended products.) Moreover, they won't provide support when specialized knowledge is required, leaving me to make all the decisions. This also helps keep sales costs down, resulting in cost-effective solutions.
It's not about buying because someone offers it at a lower price due to the assistance they provide. Considering sales professionals are humans too, human interaction becomes crucial.
Asking the sales representative for model numbers and then buying online is not ideal. It's not appropriate to do so. While it may be unavoidable if the budget is exceeded or if the product doesn't meet expectations, using business strategies akin to browsing books at a bookstore and then buying from Amazon feels inappropriate.
Time is money, and we are all blessed with a finite amount of time in our lives. If someone invests their time, compensation is necessary.
Perhaps, it's because of this belief. Maybe it's challenging to change this mindset. But that's okay.
Because that's precisely why I've been able to go this far over the past ten years. I've done things on my own, tried to manage on my own, and gradually accumulated knowledge and experience.
However, I've recently realized that this alone isn't enough. I've been grappling with the limitations of individual effort.
It's not about hiring employees or such; it's about not utilizing the resources I have or have been given effectively.
Those resources won't benefit me if I don't use them.
When I started using them, they empowered me immensely. It feels akin to bringing companions to Luida's Bar.
Let's continue walking alongside the remarkable people we already have around us, people we can trust.
While it takes a business form, fundamentally,
People want to be of help to others.
That's what I believe.
I want to utilize what I can do, my knowledge, and experiences so far.
We, the middle-aged, are not newcomers. We want to demonstrate this part of ourselves.
If it's just about selling products, we'll lose to the internet. The competition is too significant.
Despite being a salesperson, we are priced higher than online platforms.
If it takes several days to provide a quote based on the model number provided by the customer after researching, we will undoubtedly lose.
Being a good business partner with customers. I felt that this is one solution to a successful sales style.
I believe this also applies to us as service providers.
Let's aim to move away from just selling products or services!

脂肪の吸収を抑えるサプリは痩せるクスリではない Supplements That Inhibit Fat Absorption Are Not Magic Pills for Weight Loss
Hello, I'm President Yasui. In this blog, I write about my thoughts, insights from daily life, and experiences during business trips. Thank you for staying with me till the end.
It's been over 10 years since I got married, but my physique has hardly changed. Not bragging, though! I attribute it to my physically active job and my wife's cooking. But the main reason, I believe, is that I incorporate exercise into my routine.
Today, I want to share something with those who don't want to gain weight or want to lose weight.
There are plenty of products in the market with slogans like "suppress fat absorption" or "easily burn fat," right? Of course, I'm not skeptical about their effectiveness. They advertise that way, so they must work. But are people thinking, "If I drink this, I'll lose weight"? I wonder if they're somewhat over-interpreting.
I haven't seen many people who want to lose weight actually succeed. Why is that? It's because people who want to lose weight want it to be easy.
"Will I lose weight when I wake up?" "Are there foods I can eat without gaining weight?"
These are the thoughts that accompany our daily lives. In extreme cases, I even feel like people are thinking, "Can't I lose weight without doing anything?" To be blunt, with that mindset, you won't lose weight.
Lack of exercise leads to muscle deterioration. Consequently, there's no physical strength, so people tend to lie down or take breaks quickly when tired and resort to snacking, saying they're tired.
In reality, aren't people engaging in such behaviors? Not exercising means you can't push yourself when tired. When you think "I'm tired," your neurons are in an environment where they can rest, so it's difficult to summon the will to keep going. In a way, it's aging prematurely.
What do you think is necessary to lose weight? Is it diet? Sleep? Avoiding sweets? Avoiding snacks?
While these may support weight loss, they're not the essence.
The fundamental solution is "to exercise." I believe there are people who pay attention to their diet but still don't lose weight. However, they aren't exercising. That's the truth. So, exercise.
There's no other way.
Rather than spending on expensive supplements that claim to reduce fat absorption, start with a 15-minute walk. Don't walk while looking at your smartphone. Walk seriously. If you can do 15 minutes, extend it to 30 minutes or even an hour. Start with around three times a week, within a reasonable range. Let's change ourselves from not having an exercise habit. If you do, you'll truly be able to imagine a slimmer version of yourself.
For those who still find it hard to move, I want you to imagine yourself ten years from now.
Imagine yourself living the same lifestyle for the next ten years. Now, imagine yourself incorporating exercise into your life for the next ten years. Which one will have an active appearance? Furthermore, envision yourself twenty years from now. How did it turn out?
It's too late to build physical strength after it's gone. You probably understand that. Once your physical strength is gone, you won't be able to go to the gym. Even if you can, you won't be able to keep it up. It's difficult to continue because it's challenging.
You don't want to make the effort. But if you keep up with that mindset for ten or twenty years, it'll become ingrained. Overcoming that will be quite painful. Overcoming that pain means nurturing a self that can triumph over difficulties and challenges.
Move while you still can. Sooner is better.
Because this is the youngest you'll ever be in your life.

カグラベーパーテックさんのSA店技術研修会へ参加してきました Attending Kagura VaporTech's SA Store Technical Training Seminar
Hello, I'm President Yasui.
On February 22nd, I attended a technical training seminar at Kagura VaporTech's SA (Service Agency) store.
When it comes to LP gas vaporizers, Kagura VaporTech is the number one domestic share holder. It's been over 11 years since the Athlete was released in 2012. Time flies...
It's been five years since my last visit in 2019!
The seminar was held jointly by Fukui Yazaki Service, Nihonkai Sangyo, and our company, NEXT.
We had introductions (company presentations), engaging discussions where we didn't hold back our opinions (laughs), practical troubleshooting sessions, hands-on troubleshooting of malfunctioning control panels using actual equipment, lectures using cut models of minimum valves, and disassembly lectures using actual minimum valve equipment. It was truly packed with valuable content.
While we refer to them collectively as SA stores, not all of them, like ours, directly receive requests from Kagura's sales stores. They don't just handle consumer vaporizers; they also perform maintenance for high-pressure gas manufacturing plants, including open inspections, in other words, disassembly maintenance of minimum valves.
Some mainly focus on consumer equipment installation and have basic maintenance skills. Others may have never disassembled a minimum valve before, especially if their seniors have always handled it.
Since the Athlete only offers on-site maintenance (disassembly and assembly on-site), it's necessary for future training sessions like this and for each company to provide more comprehensive on-the-job training (OJT).
In the field, it's common for experienced individuals to handle familiar tasks, but I think we should avoid relying too much on such personalized tasks.
The seminar ended before 5:00 PM, and we had a social gathering starting from 6:00 PM at the hotel! It turned into a lively gathering that lasted for about three hours.
The center director ran away! (laughs)
Since the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, these kinds of on-site training seminars have become quite rare, so it's really heartening to see them return.
I owe this fortunate connection not to my efforts alone but to the existence of Mr. Iwata from Tokyo Trading Mechanics Nagoya Service Center, who facilitated the connection between our company and Kagura. Thank you very much indeed.
Kagura not only provides such training sessions but also shares technical information and provides support for troubleshooting in detail. They operate their company with a wonderful philosophy, from manufacturing to service, ensuring you can use their products with peace of mind. We are also striving to do our best.
We look forward to continued collaboration with all SA stores of Kagura VaporTech in the future!
