配管の継手など詳しくないことがまだまだありまして、島津製作所の継手を探してほしいと言われていました。
お客様から預かったサンプルを持って、いつもお世話になっている商社さんへ打合せにいくことに。
あまり注文したことはないけど、過去にこういう話をもらったことがあったとのことで、詳細をお伝えして見繕ってもらうことになりました。
ラボ向けの販売はごく少数の取扱で、かといってこちらも人が動いた分の利幅が取れるわけではありませんので本当に申し訳ないと思いながらいつもお世話になっています。
小売というか御用聞きのお仕事はどうやって利益を出しているのだろうか？
とよく疑問に思います。
一度会社を訪問したら各部署に行って注文を聞き周りするのですかねぇ。
でないと、動いた分の人件費や車両代燃料費を捻出するのすら難しそうじゃないですか？
素人ながらに絵をかいて自分の理解に間違いがないか確認作業していきます。
間違って伝わっていると、間違った商品が届いてしまって、部品取り寄せし直したりしているとそれだけで赤字になってしまいます。
それくらいシビアにやらないといけません。
皆さん、賢いですからこういうよくわからないものの相談が多いです。
それを自分が動いて特定して見積を出して。。。とやっているものだからハイリスク・ローリターンなのです。
とはいうものの、私を頼っていただいているのでこちらとしてもお応えしたいという気持ちでやっています。
配管材の商社さんの担当である所長さんにはいつもお世話になっていて、プロの知識と業界が長いので今までの経験も豊富でその知識に何度助けられたことでしょう。
自分も知識に助けられた身なので私も所長さんと同じように、困った人の助けになりたいと思います。
自分たちがしているのは商売ですから当然に利益も大事ではあります。
ですが、先義後利という考え方があることもまたビジネスの世界においてとても大切なことです。
自分の利益はあとにして、まずは相手に義を尽くす。
誠意を尽くして、相手の力になる。
先達に受けた義を後進に伝えていきたいと思います。

It seems that there's a significant reduction in bus services in Yokohama City.

There used to be a final bus service at 10 PM, but now it's gone, and the last service is around 9 PM due to a significant reduction in services.
Looking into the cause... it dates back about 12 years.
Yokohama Citizens: "Bus driver salaries are too high!" "Wasteful use of taxpayers' money!" ⇒ Yokohama City: "We'll reduce the wages of municipal bus employees by 20% to match those of the private sector! Although the reason isn't clear, it seems that the opinions of citizens, who easily criticize government employees, were taken into consideration.
Bus drivers operate from early morning to late at night. Moreover, they operate 365 days a year, so even with two days off a week, the flexibility is not that high.
As someone who doesn't have weekends off, it honestly seems tough... Even if the salary were ¥10 million, I wouldn't want to do it.
Receiving a reasonable salary for a bus driver's job indicates that it's quite demanding. It's not just about driving; it's also about maintaining a good relationship with passengers, providing prompt assistance, and sometimes dealing with drunk passengers.
I imagine it's quite challenging.
While some may genuinely enjoy being bus drivers, there are also those who continue due to the relatively high salary.
What if their salaries were reduced? It's easy to imagine.
For those who criticize government employees or easily target certain areas, I want them to imagine how they would feel if something they've been receiving suddenly gets reduced. How would you feel if your monthly allowance of ¥50,000 is reduced to ¥40,000 next month and further reduced to ¥30,000 in the next fiscal year?
Continuing the job while feeling emotionally strained may eventually lead to burnout and considering a job change. When colleagues leave, the workload increases, making it harder. This can lead to a chain reaction of resignations.
The convenience of having many buses running is built on the appreciated sacrifice of bus drivers.
Simply dismissing it as "expensive!" is too shallow.
This incident will likely be a significant lesson for society. It's about missing out on future substantial benefits by focusing on small immediate gains.
As the population decreases, when cutting into areas involving people, it may be necessary to discuss and consider not only the present but also the future.
