Hello. I’m Yasui, the president of a one-person company primarily engaged in inspections of high-pressure gas facilities.
As long as you’re even one step ahead of where you were yesterday, that’s good enough.
It can be anything. Do what you believe is right for your future.
Keep going. Keep challenging yourself.
If you keep at it, let’s believe that things will be different ten years from now and move forward.
I’ve mentioned this a few times here already, but due to a business succession, I was allowed in beforehand and have been helping with cleaning and sorting things out.
The place is overflowing with stuff—almost like a property that’s about to be auctioned off.
As I sort through it, there are many things that feel wasteful to throw away, and since this was once a lived-in place, there are plenty of moments that make me feel sad as well.
In the midst of all this, I realized that I’m actually pretty quick when it comes to removing discomfort—things that I feel are “not right.”
I say what needs to be said and think through countermeasures.
In work and in everything else, I really want to move forward with a sense of speed.
In my case, estimates that don’t fit into a standard format tend to take a lot of time… but I’ve gradually become better at gathering information and pushing myself to get them into a presentable state.
When work remains unfinished, it stays in the back of your mind.
That turns into stress.
So how do you get rid of that stress?
You have no choice but to remove the source of it.
And that leads to the mindset of: “Alright, let’s finish this job.”
I can’t really go on a trip with work still hanging over me, and even when I do travel, I bring my tools so I can work if needed.
If something is still bothering you or left unresolved, you can’t truly enjoy yourself.
I think noticing the state of your own mind is incredibly important for living a happy life.
And if you want to succeed at something, I believe the speed at which you remove immediate discomfort should be fast.
Thank you very much for reading.
See you again!
