小さいながら会社をやっていますと、不勉強なことで様々な不具合が起こってしまいます。
税法など公に開かれたものは特にそう感じます。
申告しなければ還付されるものもされない。
年末にある源泉徴収などはまさにそうですよね。
生命保険、地震保険などの生命保険料控除、医療費控除、もし何もアドバイスいただけない会社の場合はよくわからない、いや正確には知ろうとしないことで丸投げしお願いしていては何も控除されることはありません。
後々になって知ることになると、とても痛い目にあったなぁ、と思い知らされてしまいます。
「自分のどこがダメだったのかな。」
「どうしたらよかったのかな。」
という具合に頭に汗をかいて考え始めます。
そうやって人は学んでいくのですね。
痛い目に合って初めて自分の無知を知ることになります。
しかしながらこれがまた不思議なことに
痛い目にあったにも関わらずそれでもわからない種類の人もいます。
そういう人は野生動物以下でしょう。
痛い目にあって警戒する動物以下なのです。
人間は考える頭があってこそ人間ですから。
痛い目を何度も味わう必要はないはずです。
不勉強が払う代償は金銭的にも時間的にもとても大きいのです。

Running a small company, I've found that neglecting to study can lead to various problems.
Especially when it comes to matters like tax laws, which are publicly available, the consequences of ignorance can be significant.
If you fail to declare certain items, you might miss out on refunds. Year-end withholding taxes are a prime example of this.
For deductions such as life insurance premiums, earthquake insurance, medical expenses, if you're not receiving any advice from the company or, more accurately, if you're not making an effort to understand, blindly leaving it to others will result in no deductions being made.
Later on, when you realize this, it can be quite painful, a harsh lesson learned.
"What did I do wrong?"
"What should I have done differently?"
These questions start to haunt you, making you break into a sweat as you ponder over them. That's how people learn.
It's through experiencing hardships that we become aware of our own ignorance.
However, strangely enough, there are still some who, despite experiencing setbacks, fail to learn.
Such individuals are akin to wild animals, even below animals that learn from painful experiences.
Humans have the ability to think, and it's this ability that distinguishes us as humans. There shouldn't be a need to repeatedly experience pain.
The cost of neglecting study is significant, both in terms of money and time.
