Hello! My name is Yasui, and I run a small company as a solo entrepreneur, primarily inspecting high-pressure gas facilities. In this blog, I share my thoughts, daily life insights, and stories from my business trips—just a mix of casual reflections. Thank you for joining me, and I hope you’ll stay until the end.

It always feels great to receive a message from someone, doesn’t it?
Whether it’s about work, seeking advice in a difficult situation, or simply an invitation to grab a meal, these small interactions carry meaning.
As I grow older, however, I’ve noticed that non-work-related relationships have become less frequent. It’s partly due to circumstances like raising kids, but I find myself deeply concerned about this trend.
I can’t help but wonder—what if I continue to grow older without meaningful connections with friends and end up living a disconnected, solitary old age?
Sure, I might think, "I’ll just reconnect with old friends later," but I can’t shake the feeling that things might not go that smoothly.
How would someone react to hearing from me if we haven’t spoken in years? People who are sensitive to such things might feel awkward or suspicious.
This is why I believe it’s essential not only to maintain old friendships but also to create new ones. Perhaps it’s time to discover a “third place”—a space that’s neither home nor work.
It could be a straightforward option like joining a hobby group or a sports club, or something unconventional you find online. Exploring these opportunities could be exciting.
As we age, physical stamina and mental sharpness naturally decline. Starting something new becomes increasingly challenging, and those who can do so are often in the minority.
Even if you think you’ll be fine now, there’s no guarantee you’ll feel the same way in the future.
For those raising kids, I understand there’s the added factor of balancing responsibilities with your partner. However, I believe that mutual respect and flexibility can make it possible to carve out time for personal pursuits.
Investing time now in shaping a more fulfilling future is crucial. By focusing on both the present and the near future, you can create a richer and more meaningful life ahead.
The key is not to restrict anyone or drag anyone down with you.
That’s the way I want to live—free and unburdened.
Life is short. It’s too brief to give up on things for any reason.
Until next time!
